Portrait drawing can be very challenging. Many artists often struggle to capture the correct proportions, structure, facial features, and light and dark patterns of a sitter’s portrait. This workshop will provide simple methods you can put in practice to help you overcome these issues. Lectures and demos will be given throughout the workshop. Drawing life from the model, the instructor will guide you through the portrait drawing process and give individual critique. Drawing techniques will be shown to render the form and the light to dark values of the face. The instructor will also discuss using photo references to create successful portraits. Basic drawing knowledge is recommended for this workshop.
