Enrollment limited to 12 students
This workshop is open from absolute beginners to seasoned painters looking to expand their nude drawing vocabulary. Students, working in their chosen medium, will initially explore the expressive possibilities a nude model offers through a variety of short poses. Then we will gradually narrow down to poses with the most resonance, searching for the drama beyond what the studio context offers. Our aim is to arrive at an image devoid of illustration which is cohesive, self-contained, and as representative of the model as it is of the artist. An image which is refined, yet still has the immediacy, excitement, and energy of a sketch.
Arslan received his M.F.A. from Moscow Stroganov College of Art and Design. His works are in many public and private collections, and he has been honored to receive multiple awards, including the Alex J. Ettl Grant from the National Sculpture Society. He is represented by Galerie Claudine Legrand in Paris and Janus Avivson in London.
