Class Description
This class offers a hybrid approach with online and in-studio critiques.
Lectures and in-depth critiques of paintings by students giving them the ability to see and discuss each other’s work; Attempt to simulate classroom critiques of paintings. This class will not give home assignments or provide demonstrations.
Abstract painting is the primary focus of this class. Specifically, Modernism. Ms. Lipsky works with students on an individual basis. Her expertise is in Modernism and Color.
About the Instructor
Ms. Lipsky is a colorfield painter and a writer based in New York. Her pictures are represented in twenty-five public collections, including the Whitney Museum, the Smithsonian’s Hirshhorn Museum, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Museum of Fine Arts (Houston), the Walker Art Center, the Brooklyn Museum, and Harvard’s Fogg Art Museum. She has had thirty solo exhibitions. Her writing has appeared in Tablet Magazine, The New Criterion, Public Books and others.
