The directness of pencil and charcoal on paper makes them great materials for learning proportion and value. Drawing can seem intimidating, but it is manageable when we break down the process into small steps. Each month we will work from a combination of drawings, old master paintings, photos and/or models. Medici will demo and break down each assignment into clear and consecutive steps with focus on Proportion, Value and Edge. Practicing this way month after month will give you a solid foundation in drawing.
The first class of each week is a demo, discussion, and Q&A. The class is recorded so that you can replay and draw along with it. Class recordings expire after 30 days from the time of recording The second class of each week is a combination of critiques and drawing time. We learn as much from each other’s critiques as we do from our own. Critiques are optional, but suggested. You can listen to the critiques and/or work on your drawing during the critique classes.
