Class Description

“These classes will be in the form of group critiques in which all the students are invited to participate in the conversation. Students will paint and draw during the week and share photos of their work when we meet. Although we will not be painting together hands on there will be plenty of technical advice when needed. More importantly a lot of accredited art education revolves around the format of group critiques. It gives students the opportunity to focus on visual thinking in greater depth both as it applies to their own work and to that of their peers. It has been my experience that I have learned through observing and commenting on the works of my peers as much as of my own. Painting is usually an isolated activity yet it also requires some sort of artistic community for it to grow.

Note: For the class to run smoothly please e mail photos of your work each week ahead of time to the Instructor and the Monitor, with the Subject, (depending on which class you are in), exactly as follows:

ASL Drawing Zoom Class, Sun AM
ASL Painting Zoom Class, Sun PM
ASL Painting Zoom Class, Tues Eve

This allows me to share your images without having to look for your e mails among everything that is in my Inbox for the week.”
