Class Description
The focus of this class is to provide the information helpful for each person to achieve their goal as an artist. Along with working from the model, sequential lectures and demonstrations will address topics such as anatomy, composition, perspective, from black and white to color, drawing to painting, Old Masters techniques to contemporary concepts of the figure, portrait, still life, landscape, narrative, and abstraction based on observation, imagination, and expression. The goal is personal and professional artistic development. All materials explored. All levels welcome.
About the Instructor
Sherry Camhy’s work has been exhibited in and is part of the permanent collections of numerous museums. She curated The Silverpoint Exhibitionat The National Arts Club (2013), and published Art of the Pencil (1997) and Robert Beverly Hale Lectures (2016). Articles by and about her have appeared in many art publications. When she is not giving workshops at The Art Students League, the School of Visual Arts, NYU Tisch School of the Arts or abroad, she can be found working in her studio in West Chelsea, NY.
